100 years. Of mystery.
I don’t know what happened, but I wish those thousands of people well.
All of the last survivors from the incident have passed since 2009. The very last one, Millvina Dean, was just nine weeks old on the day. The last to remember the incident, Lillian Asplund, was five during the incident, and died in 2006 at 99 years old.
I wish all of them well.
What really happened during the Titanic? What could have happened? I’m watching a documentary by James Cameron (which they did nothing but argue for the first hour), but who can really say? No one may really know until time machines are possible, or when technology lets us see it unfold.
For now, let’s learn not to make mistakes like that again.
Happy 100th anniversary, RMS Titanic
